Comhairle Members’ Networking Events

Comhairle Networking Days 2018

An important part of the annual Comhairle na nÓg programme are the Comhairle Members’ Regional Networking Events. These comprise three regional events: one in Limerick, one in Sligo and one in Dublin. The purpose of these events is to allow members of Comhairle na nÓg from all over the country to network with other Comhairlí in a very informal way. The 2018 Comhairle Networking events took place in the week leading up to Easter.

Dublin:  Woodquay Venue: Monday 26th March 2018
Limerick: Absolute Hotel: Tuesday 27th March 2018
Sligo: Glasshouse Hotel: Wednesday 28th March 2018

The main objectives of these events are:

  • To create a space for young Comhairle members to network with each other in an informal way
  • To offer Comhairle members the chance to tell other Comhairlí about their topic/s and how they are progressing
  • To discuss any highlights or challenges to date while working on their topic
  • To learn from each other by sharing their thoughts and feelings on how their own Comhairle is run

In the afternoon session and in small groups the Comhairle members discussed the following question: what are the challenges for Comhairle na nÓg in 2018?  They then came up with suggestions as to how to overcome or resolve the challenges. Their suggestions, in addition to all other information gathered on the day, are currently being compiled into a report which will be available on this page by the end of April.
