Let’s Go Mental: Clare 22.07.2015

Clare Comhairle’s Lets Go Mental event took place at Clare Youth Service, Carmody Street, Ennis on 22nd July. This event was a fantastic chance to meet new people, to have fun and do something different, all while encouraging Positive Mental Health. It included live bands, music, workshops, yummy food, crazy imaginative activities and lots of good old fashioned fun!
Here are some of our highlights:
GET INVOLVED: IT’S ONE OF YOUR FIVE-A-DAY FOR YOUR MENTAL HEALTH.
Give it a shot and try something you’ve never done before. And what better way to do this than to try a CIRCUS SKILLS WORKSHOP!!!!! Clare Comhairle provided participants with an opportunity to try this out at their #LetsGoMental2015 event at an uplifting and fun session facilitated by Ned Whyatt, who was not long back from European Voluntary Service in Lithuania.
BE AWARE: ANOTHER OF YOUR FIVE-A-DAY FOR MENTAL HEALTH
Kevin Copeland is the instructor for Clare Tai Chi, has been practicing for over 7 years, teaching for 5 years and is a member of the Ireland Tai Chi & Qigong Association. Kevin facilitated very popular Tai Chi workshops at the Clare event. Some benefits of Tai Chi:

MUSIC:
Music played a huge part of Clare’s event. Clare-based James Gormley played some great toons –you can listen to some music by James here:

Music was also provided by Locke and Quay who were brilliant at the Ennis Street Festival. They played the closing set at this event. This five-piece band began playing together in Limerick in 2014 and were the perfect end to a great day.
